Bike or hike the Bearskin State Trail
Located directly adjacent to Rondele Ranch, the Bearskin State Trail is a popular hiking and biking route in northern Wisconsin that spans 21.5 miles between Minocqua and Tomahawk. It follows a former railroad line, and the compacted granite surface means it’s suitable for all ages and abilities.
Fish the Willow Flowage
Anglers have lots of opportunities to cast for trophy fish in Oneida County’s lakes, but one can’t-miss spot near Rondele Ranch is the Willow Flowage. Located about 15 miles northwest of Rondele Ranch, this sprawling, 4,200-acre waterway includes 73 miles of shoreline and is home to healthy populations of panfish, northern pike, and walleye, as well as musky and largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Canoe or kayak local lakes & rivers
Paddling on the Northwoods’ lakes and rivers is a fantastic way to take in the fall colors, and Rondele Ranch is close to two great places to explore on a canoe and kayak: West Mitchell Lake and the Tomahawk River. West Mitchell Lake is a small, 55-acre lake just west of U.S. Highway 51 near Rondele Ranch, and the Tomahawk River flows from southern Vilas County and through Oneida County to the Willow Flowage. Rentals are available at local businesses.

Rent a UTV & ride the trails
Northern Wisconsin is a great place for UTVing, too—Oneida County’s Enterprise and Little Rice trail systems are popular spots for four-wheeling in the fall. The Enterprise Trail in the Oneida County Forest south of Rhinelander and the Lynne/Little Rice Trail in the southwestern part of the county offer dozens of miles of wooded trails, ATV routes, and town roads open to ATV/UTV traffic.
Rondele Ranch has 3-passenger and 6-passenger UTV rentals on site, and if you’re staying in one of our vacation homes, you’ll get 20 percent off your rental.
